Από την άλλη πλευρά, ο Μαρκ Ζούκερμπεργκ –το αφεντικό της ΜΕΤΑ– συντάσσεται με την προτίμηση του αχρείου Τραμπ, τουτέστιν, την αυτορρύθμιση των τεχνολογικών γιγάντων – των τεχνο-ολιγαρχών.
Ας μην απατόμαστε: δεν πρόκειται για ιδεολογικές διαφορές μεταξύ των ολιγαρχών ή για αυξημένη κοινωνική ευθύνη των (υποτιθέμενων) θιασωτών της ρύθμισης και των περιορισμών. Αυτοί προσβλέπουν στην αιχμαλωσία των ρυθμιστών (κατ’ ουσίαν, στους ισχνότερους των περιορισμών). Και, ταυτοχρόνως, επιζητούν νομιμοποίηση έναντι των ρυθμιστικών αρχών της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης αποβλέποντας στην χαλάρωση των ψηφιακών κανόνων της τελευταίας – στην αμφισβήτηση της πολιτικώς υπεσχημένης τεχνολογικής απεξάρτησης της ΕΕ από τις ΗΠΑ.

“US Big Tech companies have an outsized influence in Brussels, spending more money and meeting more often with EU policymakers than European companies, according to an FT analysis.
Google, Apple and Amazon each have more meetings with officials at the European parliament and European Commission than any individual European company, according to an FT analysis of the EU’s transparency register and meeting databases for the two institutions.
American corporations have used their influence in Brussels to push back against the bloc’s digital rules, over which US President Donald Trump has repeatedly threatened tariffs in response to Europe seeking “tech sovereignty” to reduce its reliance on US technology.
“We do need to ask hard questions of . . . the policymakers in charge because they seem to be giving more access to US companies rather than to European ones,” said Raphaël Kergueno of Transparency International campaign group.
Since the EU elections in June 2024 ushered in a new parliament and Commission leadership, Google and its subsidiaries have held 302 meetings with senior Commission officials and MEPs, more than any single European business. Apple held 257 meetings and Amazon 239 meetings over that same period, the records show. Only France’s TotalEnergies, Germany’s Volkswagen and European multinational Airbus appear among the top 20 organisations ranked by the number of meetings.
Google held 22 meetings on the EU’s so-called digital omnibus alone, which waters down AI rules, for instance by giving companies more leeway in training models on personal data. Google, Amazon and Apple have also discussed proposed cloud regulation and online safety rules for children…”
